The 2016 Pebble Beach Tour d'Elegance, which took place on Thursday, August 18, was rerouted in order to avoid hindering firefighters as they fought the wildfire burning to the east of Big Sur. The revised route limited the use of public roads, avoiding Highway One, Carmel Valley Road and the Highway 68 corridor.
